Community Update June 28 2024

Service Update from Home-Start Wyre Forest, 28/06/24  

As you are aware, we are in a period at Home-Start Wyre Forest where some of our larger grants have ended and despite continued efforts to replace this funding, at present we do not have income to continue operating at the same level.

Our Board of Directors have sadly had to make the difficult decision to issue redundancies to two employees, who will leave the scheme in July 2024.

Kelly Hurst, (Co-ordinator) and Liz Smith, (Swap Shop Worker) will be ending their time with the scheme in the coming weeks, after which the remaining staff team will redistribute workload in line with capacity.

During this period we will be closed to new referrals (1st July – 31st August). 

Service for existing families and volunteers will not be affected, although some families may have a change of co-ordinator at the scheme.

We are holding a coffee morning for anyone who has had contact with Kelly and Liz on Tuesday 23rd July 2024, to thank them for all they have done and to wish them well for the future. Please join us at Offmore Church, Gray Close, Kidderminster DY10 3YE between 10.00am and 11.30am if you can -everyone is welcome.

It is with great regret we have made these decisions, but there is no alternative for us to ensure we can continue the service of the scheme, with the reduced funding we have in place.
